Telly is a pretty bad name. It's funny, though. Tell him to name the baby a name from the bible. Say, "It'll make him believe in god more." Hope this helps and have a great day

Tell him, if he wants Telly, it will be the second middle name, and you will get the First, Middle name
Like Jon James Telly Smith
Does he know Telly is a monster on Sesame Street, and the child will be growing up with people that know that. When he is in Jr high and High school, people may ask if he is name after Telly
Congratulations

Naming your baby has to be a joint collaboration. If one person is totally opposed to a name, that name should be tossed out of the pile. And I think naming a baby "Telly" is definitely one for the trash heap. The only think I think of when I hear the name "Telly" is that old fat bald actor named Telly Savalas. I'd say to keep trying to come up with a name you both can agree on.

I have to echo the comment about reminding him who is actually HAVING the child in the first place. No child coming out of me would have such a stupid name, even if it was a family name. You can suggest he change HIS name to Telly and see how long he lives with it.

well the good thing about being mommy is you do all the paper work so really its all your desicion. Not that i'm telling you to go behind his back or anything.

My husband wanted to name our son PATCHrick b/c he was concived on the patch. I told him Heck (ok i used stronger vocabulary) NO. then his suggestion was John Jacob Jinglehimer Smith. Again told him NO. Today we were at Nickolas Michael but he decided an hour later he didn't want Michael. (we have about 4 weeks to pick a name).

we knew what we were going to name the first two about two days after we found out we were pregnant. (well my daughters middle name changed when we reliezed that when people mispronounce out last name they say do boys. wasn't going to have her be Ai(I) do boys.)

just sit and read baby name books together

Say exactly what you just said...."this name is horrible!". if you don't like it, then you can't live with your child having an ugly name. Does it have meaning behind it...is it someone in the family's name or something? If the name has no value, then simply tell your husband to COMPROMISE on a name you both like and can deal with. Ask him, what is his second choice of name.

Telly is a character on Sesame Street. The child will always be associated with someone whose fondest wish is to become a triangle.

Try telling him that it will make people think of the teletubbies, and ask if that is the image he wants his son's name to invoke. Honestly, it is the first thing that popped into my mind, closely followed by Telly Sevalas.

Tell him that you will only settle for Television or Telephone. And he can call him Telly for short. I am sure he will change his mind. Or PRAY for a girl.

Start rhyming names with it. Smelly Telly won't be very happy in school.
