I have an interesting trade offer. I was offered Chase Utley for Grady Sizemore. My current 2B is Brian Roberts and I have Bobby Abreu on my bench. Abreu has obviously been struggling, but Sizemore isn't exactly setting the world on fire. I want to pull the trigger on Utley for Sizemore but something is holding me back???

definitely do the trade. sizemore for utley straight up is no brainer. your sb's will drop but that's about it. you'll gain hr's, hits. rbi's, and total bases. utley doesn't strike out as much as sizemore does. being from philly and watching utley everyday...it's done deal if it was me. one more thing, i think utley only has 1 or 2 errors this year.

I think I would hold on to sizemore. Roberts isn't doing bad he gets a lot of steals also. Sizemore is an elite center fielder. I don't know what your free agent pool looks like but in my league center field is a tough spot to fill if you don't already have someone. Sizemore along with roberts you shouldn't have much of a problem getting stolen bases. But if you are in need of power stats and you can pick up a decent free agent center fielder then maybe you should do the deal. Otherwise I would stick with roberts and sizemore. They both also hit leadoff so you know your going to get a lot of at bats from those guys where utley hits 3rd...............................................................................................................As Sizemore goes 4/5 with 2 runs 2 rbi and a home run today. Best of luck no matter what you decide.

Same type of baseball player and both are 300 hitters. Utley has more power, hits in the #3 slot, and will drive in more runs. Jump on this deal before the other guy changes his mind. By the way, don't give up on Abreu, he will come around

I would say yes, but then you would have to trade Roberts for an outfielder because Roberts is too good to be sitting on your bench when you start Utley. The question is will you be able to trade Roberts to someone who needs a second baseman??? I think i would take that chance, accept the deal.

i would definitely do that deal. you would be losing some steals, but gaining hitting all around. if you need steals look for a free agent with speed like willits on LAA.
