Can you answer these?
1. <1, is it greater than or less than
2. >1, is it greater than or less than

For the life of me I can't remember. I know it's like a 1st grade ?, but it's been awhile.

Suppose there was an x infront of the signs. This would mean:
1. x is less than 1
2. x is greater than 1

The wider part of the < or > is at the larger value.
So
<1 is less than
>1 is greater than

(A second line at the bottom would mean less than or equal to / equal or more than)

Less than and greater than in that order.

Picture going from left to right as you would read.

0 < 1

Zero is less than one.

Hehehe, I get these confused all the time...

For 1. If something is <1, it's smaller than 1
For 2. It's the opposite, something >1 means something's bigger than 1.

You could try remembering it this way:

See, < has two ends, a big end (two bits) and a small end (the sharp end) The small, sharp end is always pointing to the smaller thing.
