You don't need a college degree to get a good job, but it definitely improves your chances.
According to the Bureau of Labor Statistics website, the higher a person's educational achievement, the more money they will make on average and there is a lower unemployment rate as well.
People without a high school diploma or GED have an unemployment rate of 6.8% and median earnings of $419 per week.
People with just a high school diploma or GED have an unemployment rate of 4.3% and median earnings of $595 per week.
People with an Associate's degree have an unemployment rate of 3.0% and median earnings of $721 per week.
People with a Bachelor's degree have an unemployment rate of 2.3% and median earnings of $962 per week.
People with a Master's degree (approximately 7% of the population) have an unemployment rate of 1.7% and median earnings of $1,140 per week.
Median means that half make more and half make less. It's not the average. With those statistics, you should see a pattern. Higher education means more money and increases the probability of getting a job.
Get as much education as you can. If you are unsure of yourself or haven't done well in highschool, it doesn't mean you can't get a college degree. Go to your local community college and check with them. If necessary, only take one or two classes at a time so you can fully concentrate on it while working part-time. It will take you longer to complete the degree, but you will finish if you stick with it and it will reward you for the rest of your life.
Good luck

It really depends on the field, the market, what you consider a good job, and what other skills you have.
A lot of people make good money without a college education or trade school, but it can be difficult to get started or get your foot in the door. Once you have a few years experience (in a lot of fields) the lack of a degree isn't that big of a deal, but it can be hard to take the first steps.
Plus, a college education doesn't mean you are going to get a good job. Degrees are a dime a dozen anymore, and it is more important to show that you have the relevant skills, interview well, and do your job then be able to show you put in a few years at a mediocre school to earn a degree.
It does help though. Ask people in the field you are interested in and see what they did and what they recommend. An awful lot of people who have degrees will tell you it is a complete waste aside from being able to say they have the degree itself, so don't be afraid to go to a community college for your associates then transfer to a University for your Bachelors if you choose to get one. Also, working while you are in school can help to pay some of the costs and can get you the experience alongside the degree.

I don't think you do. What you need is experience.
I have a BA and MS in Sociology. I still make the same thing as someone with years of experience. Education gives you the opportunity to move up in the ranks; those without education (whether it be a trade or traditional) will eventually hit a ceiling and not be able to advance their careers without some type of education.
You can land a good paying job without education, but you have to be creative in selling yourself and have some serious experience in the field

The average 25 year old with a college degree makes $25,000 more per year than the average 25 year old with a High School education. The gap widens as you get older.
In addition, those without a good education are much more likely to be unsatisfied with their jobs.
No -- you don't NEED a college degree to get a good job -- but it certainly improves your chances.

More than likely you will need an associates degree or lots of on the job experience. It's not easy to get paid what you want unless you own your own business. But if you are looking for something in the corporate world, you need a good educational background.

housekeeper, garbage man, counter girl at McDonalds are the jobs you can look forward to as a person with no education. Go to school. It will make your life better in the long run if you do.
