the saddest most heart wrenching thing you could think of? whoever beats my thought gets ten points. my thought is this............a parent outliving their child.

How about a child outliving their parent?
We've jsut gone through that, with my daughter's friends mother died, leaving two children. It is horrible. Teh kids are so distraught.

When a parent has to decide whether to keep their child on life support perhaps to be a comatose tomato forever, or have them die a peaceful but premature death. That's what my Aunt had to do with my cousin, and she's never been the same since.

A child kidnapped, abused and found dead. My little sister's friend was taken by her mom's ex-boyfriend three years ago and this what happened to her. He is in prison

you are right on that one.
i lost my son 7 yrs ago. found him in his room. and couldnt save him.
it is the worst pain anyone could go through.

i think any family that experiences a loss of one of their members before 'their time' is going to grieve more than the 'expected' death of a loved one (which is still very sad)
