The Andromeda Galaxy is approximately 2.5 million light years from Earth. Incidentally, it is approaching the Milky Way at about 300 km/s, and may collide with it in about 3 billion years.

andromeda is about 2 million light years away. if you live in a dark area, you dont even need a telescope to see it. and when you look at it, your seeing it as it was two million years ago because thats how long it took the light to get here. i hope this helps!!!!!
