Adopting Children?

Question

Why are there so many people adopting children from other countries and not adopting the ones that need homes here in America? I pass The Children's Home at times and there are so many children there that need adopted, what is wrong with these people? Do they not pass the the American regulations of adopting or what?

i'm on ur side there is as many children here that are from other countries. i guess that it must make them look good if they help someone far away.

American orphanages are like heaven compared to the ones in africa. besides theres only a small percentage of orphaned children in orphanages or homes in africa. most arte forced to survive on the streets in dire poverty. Im not saying you should go one way or the other im just saying that many orphans in other countries need it more and by adopting thenm you could be giving a street child a place in a orphanage which is still beter than the streets. Some of the street children where i live are only four or five years old and they just stick together with the older ones who later abanmdon them when things get too tough

Because if you adopt an American child you're taking the risk of the birth parents wanting the child back in a few years.
Adopting a child from another country is easier (sometimes) because, even if the child has birth parents that are still alive, they want someone to give the child a better life.

I kind of thought about adopting a child in a third world country for i know that they need it the most. In your case, i think that people in america don't give much attention on the homeless children in their country. The image of the people/children living in a country like africa/some asian countries are more pitiful than that of america, the state (USA) has the more capability of providing social goods than those poor countries. there...

What color are those children? In my area of the country they are black children and it seems that white couples would rather adopt Asian or Indian or even south American children rather than take the chance the black children came from drug backgrounds that make them harder to handle. So the question always is, why is it that those white christian conservatives who cut off funding for birth control and abortion to their welfare recipients aren't adopting those black babies into their homes?
