Why should the animal suffer and die for somebody's vanity? What can we do about this.
I myself don't use animal tested cosmetics and keep a list of these companies who don't test on animals, and links to different animal rights organizations on my HP in Japan. But can we do more?

The question was why an animal should suffer and die for somebody's VANITY. Vanity= something compretely useless for the human existence. Thousands of years people have lived with no cosmetics or very little, mostly natural one. So, what's the point to look like an Easter egg and take some innocent life with this?
That was the point of my quiestion.

It's the people who's money pay for these products that create the problem.
I don't know a single person who agrees with cosmetic animal testing, yet they will still go out and buy their Loreal lipstick because some dimwitted celebrity tells them to.
It's no surprise that women are treated as an inferior race, when a woman can have her beloved pet toy poodle under one arm, and a bag containing Loreal products in the other.
People are just vain. When it comes between a lipstick that stays on all day, and morals concerning animals being tortured to death, I guess some people are just numbskulls.
People need to understand where their money goes. How many people choose a certain brand of tea over a Fair Trade one just because they think it tastes slightly better. How many people will pass a homeless person on the street, a big issue seller, yet have a dress worth a small fortune in their closet they have never worn.
People need to be educated. Women need to set a better example. Morals over ego, anyday.
(I know men buy Loreal too, but lets face it, the whole Metrosexual fad is a spin off of women's obsession with their looks.)
< female.

Some orgs like PETA, which is a documented terrorist organization on the list of the federal Government (PETA also supported the 9/11 terrorist act- documented by the president of PETA); Try to say the are helping. But it is some of the individual supporters that actually contribute by public speaking (not by supporting PETA).
There are laws in place in the USA, UK, AU, and some Asian countries (this is spreading world wide) that protect the rights of animals, such as "how" they are used, and humanly treated before death. Most (all legal) companies are mandated by law to perform research ethically. This also now applies to vet, teaching schools, hospitals, research, pharmaceutical and other labs.
The same goes for farm raised animals that people eat.
This answers "suffering" not death.
What can you do? If you know of a lab, school, company breeder, or even a pet owner that is causing harm/suffering, abuse to an animal or animals, report them to the authorities, because it is against the law due to the act of the animal rights law.
There is no law that prevents the death of an animal if death is humanly caused. If your country does not have a law in place, then write to your government, and develop support groups, and get the word out.

Well I guess the first step would be to get the government to remove the requirements for testing on new chemicals ingredients (just like China). We will just find out when the consumers go blind, or freeze all use to the old products (which is what the companies who advertise they dont test do)

well what is the alternative , just let companies release products onto the market and wait and find out what happens or maybe they should pay better to get real human Ginnie pigs to test on and that way when say some dies or grows a second head he can sue the company and that would be great for the economy after a few year aye .

Become a human Guinea pig, volunteer yourself for the testing. I did, and look at me, no harm done at all.
