car is possible, see Tesla Motors http://www.teslamotors.com/index.php?js_enabled=1 the Tesla Roadster is not a Hybrid though and 400hp is impractical in a car with this kind of performance. Plug in Hybrids are just around the corner. Toyota will be 1st and GM supposed to have one in 2010. The limiting factor in the Electric Car is the battery. All of the other technology is available already like the electronics and the motors. The plug in hybrid PHEV that Toyota plans based on the Prius has already been proven by aftermarket companies like Hymotion. And Toyota will be following their lead with their own battery, http://www.google.com/search?sourceid=navclient&aq=t&ie=UTF-8&rls=GGIC,GGIC:2007-03,GGIC:en&q=hymotion+phev. There is no reason not to believe that the ICE is nearing the end of its life. Hymotion was just bought by A123 Systems. A123 seems to have the best battery going now. Even GM thinks so. Study up on electric cars. Their capabilities will surpise you.
