-everyone is so wrapped up in their own lives
-people don't realize how important it is to listen
-everyone else is trying to be heard
-it's easy when someone is talking to you to think of what you're going to say instead of really listening
-it can be hard to really listen because then you really might have to be invested in that person's life

Please try hard to be a good listener...take the focus off you and really hear what someone is saying...Do NOT be quick to offer advice...often the best thing to do is just let them talk.
Make a real effort to be a better listener...you'll be amazed at what you hear. And if you already are a good listener, then know that you are making a difference in people's lives. Keep it up!

There are good listeners out there if you are looking for them. Try asking advice from friends and family, they might just surprise you. If you really need help about something I'm sure that you will get it. On the other hand people can be pretty snobby these days. My advice, Ignore them, you don't need those sort of people in your life.

Because people as a whole are much more selfish. This is a "me" society that we are creating. If it doesn't pertain to or interest "me" then it surely isn't important.

Sad, isn't it.
