I get it a lot wherever I go, I don't mind it but sometimes I think it's a little annoying.

Do you get it? Or some equivalent?

I don't mind too much - I tend to call people babes.

Just sometimes it's a little weird, I'm 24 and I get people younger than me saying it!

Oh I never tell them that I don't like it - I'm too polite.

It does't bother me at all. Words like luv, darlin',hun etc are just a form of greeting, less formal than sir or madam. I would think most people can discern their meaning from the infletion or the look that accompanies them.

Hey Mizza, I just got on, thanks for best answer, I know you're not a psycho. Anyway, I think people must say love and darling in the UK more often than the US, cuz I usually hear "sweetie" here. I hear "darlin'" in the south when ever I go there, and in the north strangers yell "get away from me" if you get too close.

Hmmmm. i individually do in contrast to "love", "darling" and "puppy" getting used on me via somebody I slightly comprehend. For me it cheapens the meaning of the be conscious while utilized via strangers. besides the incontrovertible fact that, it is the thought counts so i don't concepts them announcing it. I do like it while lady pals use "darling" and "sweetheart" on me. this happens many times. :]

My husband is German, and when he went with me to visit the US he was just tickled pink when a waitress at a truck stop called him "honey". I guess I don't mind it when old ladies call me honey or dear or whatever.

I find it more amusing really, especially when some kid calls me love or darling, just sounds so funny yet patronising but you have to laugh.
