My dog did a nasty #2 on our rug, of which i managed to step in bare footed. I was considering power washing it after soapy water and rubbing didnt quite get the scent out. Before doing so, I was wondering if anyone had a better suggestion. Please help my nasty rug.

PS....Dogs and zip sauce dont mix.

To remove lingering carpet odors, sprinkle baking soda on the spot. Let it sit overnight, then vacuum.

I use a product called Oda Ban. This is good on pet stains and it will get rid of the odor. Some hospitals use this product. It is a natural and non toxic product and a good disinfectant. The only place I have seen Oda Ban is Sam's Club. Wal-Mart might have it. I use this in my home when training my dog when he was a puppy a year ago.

The only other suggestion I would make is let a professional carpet cleaner do it they have products that will do the job. One other thing rent a steam cleaner and go to a janitorial supply store near you. They should have products that is used in hospitals, schools etc to get rid the smell for carpet.

Good Luck.....................................
