The Pirates of the Caribbean movies are based on the classic Pirates of the Caribbean ride at Disneyland. The movies even make references to scenes you will find on the ride. As far as I know, the ride itself was not based on a book, but I could be wrong.

It was based on the ride called the Pirates of the Carribean at Walt Disney World in Orlando Florida. There is a couple parts on the ride that I remember that they have taken into the movie, such as the scene at the Island of Tortuga and the ship fighting and also the scene in the cave. I have been on that ride!! before they made the movie! I thought it was cool!! I was 9 though!

in case you pass to Disney international in Florida, you will see many of the scenes which you moreover would see interior the action picture. It became into desperate to create a action picture around those scenes. sure a script and e book have been written however the muse of the tale became into the journey interior the park which has been there for some years, a minimum of 18 to my specific understanding and probable lots longer.
