Pump the brake 10 times with the engine off hold pressure on the brake with your foot and start the car. When vacuum comes up the brake will move closer to the floor if it does not move down the diaphram is torn in the booster and booster unit needs to be replaced some hissing noise is normal.

Ummm... i'm notably specific those adult males are incorrect. i think that all and sundry 1989 700r4's are an identical, which includes the bell housings. The internals are each and every of an identical different than for the output shaft on the truck four wheelpersistent kind (and no tailcone for sure). i understand some adult males that have used 700r4's out of late 80's v6 buicks of their 70's rockcrawlers (a million truck, a million blazer, the two equipped 350's). the two lasted for a whilst, then burned up because of the fact 700r4's at the instant are not likely beefy. 86+ have been extra suitable yet nonetheless choose enhancements (servo's, clutches, etc.). considered one of them have been given one out of a v8 caprice and whilst we rebuilt them next to eachother, all areas have been an identical. examine application charts for rebuild kits, i think of you will see each and every of the areas are an identical.

It sounds like the booster may be going out on you or I would just check the vacuum line to the booster it may be in need of replacement if its dryed and cracked just replace it then drive the car for alittle bit and see how that works for you.
