And if this is true, would it affect gas prices at all?

NO. You'd either buy it the day before or the day after, what difference would it make except the station attendants would have a really nice day. LOL The only thing that hurts the gas companies is using less gas, not skipping a day when buying it.

Aye-aye-aye. Some people are so naive. Even if EVERYONE participated, this has NO impact on the oil companies or gas stations, because it doesn't change how much gas they sell. All that happens is that people buy their gas a day earlier or a day later. If you really want to impact gas prices, you have to STOP USING GAS. Period. If you are not willing to walk or take the bus more, then you are going to be wasting your time bothering to "boycott" by not buying gas. Snopes.com covered this subject very well. The link is below.

at the start, there substitute into no gas protest in 1997, and while those have been tried, gas expenditures did not bypass down! the only real thank you to hold down gas expenditures is to look on the previous furnish and demand equation. the two enhance furnish or decrease call for. Insist that our lawmakers enable drilling in ANWR and everywhere else there is oil. additionally, stop using plenty gas! Is it any ask your self why gas expenditures are so severe, while another motor vehicle on the line is an SUV or huge %. up truck and individuals are using greater suitable than ever? in case you're into those sometime protest issues, than attempt and get hundreds of thousands of people to not use gas for a million day on might fifteenth. Ask them to carpool, take public transportation, bike, telecommute, despite the fact that. parent in case you may get 10 million people to not use gas that sometime, and parent they regularly might burn 2 gallons that day, it is 20 million gallons all at once extra to our gas furnish.

While I am honoring the May 15 boycott, a better boycott is to boycott certain gas companies each month. That is, boycott BP for a month. Then, boycott Exxon for a month and so on. We'll still have access to gas, but each gas company will feel the crunch. What is stupid is for people to sit back and do nothing, instead of standing up together.

NO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

The boycott is stupid, there is no differance if I fill up today tomorrow, or when whenever, because eventually I need gas to go to work, pick up kids, ETC. it's called life, left wing nuts. Supply and demand, the Oil companies are gonna get our money eventually, so it makes no differance which day you fill. All you people saying I will fill up today or the 16th what's the differance? Most people don't need gas everyday, most fill up once a week or twice depends on your job and what's going on. If you Nuts want to make a differance than set the example, ride your bike to work, use the T-Train if you have one in your city, Put wind farms on the coast of Cape Cod where I live, to increase energy on our area and less on oil and gas but THE GREAT HYPROCITES LIKE TED KENNEDY, JOHN KERRY AND Liberal buddies don't want that, Let's stop people like Al Gore flying on private Jets. I mean we can do alot so much more and a one day gas out is stupid. The Oil companies will get you eventually it's called supply and demand.

No, it isn't true. People would just buy more gas the next day. Or even the day before. Think about it.

If people stopped *driving* for 1 day... that's a different matter.
