There are of course 2 different kinds of pain ,physical and emotional. I live with chronic physical pain 24/7 in my life. I have been living in pain since my car accident in 97 which almost killed me. I have had several back surgeries that didn't fix the problem. I have pain in my back, hips, legs, feet and hands. I have learned to listen to my body and some days I just can't do anything. On the days that it isn't as bad, I try to make the most of it and do things I enjoy. Living in physical or emotional pain daily takes its toll on a person mentally and physically. I am only 33 years old so it's hard for people to understand why I am in pain all the time. That is the hardest part....other people not understanding. I hope to be able to help others who live in chronic pain one day.

If you mean physical pain, I will first see if there is something immediate I can do, like a stretch or an ice pack or something. If not, then I'll take a pain killer. If that doesn't work, then I decide whether the pain is bad enough to go to the doctor about. If not, I decide to live with it.

If you mean mental pain, I don't deal very well with it. I tend to get angry and obsess about it, but sometimes I think obsessing wears down the pain so it doesn't mean as much.

Pain to me is only physical. I deal with it by getting away or trying to get my mind off it. I tell myself that I'm in control of my own body and no-one and nothing should be able to change that.

Pain for me is loosing a loved one. I deal with it by praying and asking the good Lord to give me the strength to make it through this difficult period.

pain for me can be emotional or physical when i am depressed, stressed, mad, sad, upset, disappointed, physically ill, etc. I try to just forget about the pain I feel inside or I talk through my problems with loved ones. Talking to others about your problems can really decrease your workload and help you to feel better.
