First out of respect, our skin is actually brown and we are not from India. I am Siksika Blackfoot of The Blackfeet Nation, an aboriginal from North America. You needn't be PC but to be called a "Red Indian" is rather insulting.

To Answer your question. If you have Native Status, if it says Native or Alaskan Native on your birth certificate, then no you do not have equal status in the US. We are the only group of people in the US that have a government agency to track us. There are still certain rights that we are not allowed. We are still considered cattle by the US government. Naturalized citizens have more civil rights than Natives.
It is still a sad fact in the US.

On the east coast where there are not many they have few if any problems and people brag about the Native North American ancestry. In the west near reservations particularly North and South Dakota they are discriminated against. When it comes to Hispanics who differ from decedents of Europeans because of the inter mixture with South and Central Native Americans there is some discrimination everywhere and efforts to stop illegal immigration and slow legal.

i don't really understand your question...it depends upon where you live. if you live on a reservation that's close to cities where there's high visibility, there's a lot of racism. the non-indian business owners are happy to take our money, but don't want us loitering. "make your purchase, and head back to the rez." myself, family members, and friends have often been told to go back to the rez where we belong. if you're a native who's been raised off the rez, there might not be as many problems. it just depends upon what part of the nation you live in. where do you live, that you refer to native ppl as "red indians?" interesting.

I assume you mean Native Americans. No, but they're slowly getting some revenge via Blackjack, Poker, Slots, etc.
