I don't know why, but men make me nervous. I panic inwardly if I have to be alone with one- even my uncles or a doctor.
If I'm on a walk and a man is casually on his own I just want to bolt for home.
What's my problem and how can I get over it?
I've never been, you know, abused or anything. My dad is/was/ has been an unreliable emotional sinkhole. He did leave very out of the blue and slammed the family with a completely unexpected divorce.
But I don't know why that would make me afraid of guys.
Any ideas? Suggestions?

I did not have any brothers until I was 16 years old, and I got married at 17. I was always afraid of men when I was younger(even my school teachers). It took a lot for me to talk to them, until my friend helped me get over my fear.

Maybe there is someone that you can talk to about your problem. If not, contact a therapist, he/she can help you.

The only cure for any type of fear is to face it head on. Perhaps you should attempt to fight it, try going on some dates or talking to more men even when your scared.

Sweetheart, I think you need to seek some counseling on this. I mean professional. You won't get worthy advice for this on answers.

I don't have an answer for you, but it sounds like you should try to get some professional counseling (I'm not trying to be sarcastic).
