Hi guys. I need serious help. I have bought this Toshiba laptop less than a year ago and it has always been perfect. About last week, it started crashing all the time one day with everything frozen, especially the starts bar. I have tried everything, virus scan, spyware scan and nothing work. So in the end I formated this and reinstalled everything. So I thought it would be all ok. It was until I reinstalled Offices, and ran the Mircosoft update, the start bar began to freeze from time to time again. (like now) It reli gets on my nerves now, Since I cant even restart it!!! Please!!! Any computer-Masters, I need your helps.

The bar usually freeze for a long time. And everytime it freezes, I would not be able to initiate any task, not even task manager. And I'm pretty sure that my windows and Office are both good. I have stopped the update now but it is still happening.

Tudor,

Thanks a lot for helping. So I just checked and you are right. So when I started the Pc the Performace was about 38% then it rises up to 100% and stays there. With the Process, It was first the System Idle Procress took up most of the valueo f the CPU. And after, it was svchost.exe and it constantly takes up abround 95-99 of the CPU. What is that???

If you have reformatted the harddrive before reinstalling, I suspect a hardware fault,

Does it freeze for a period of time ? like 10-20 seconds ? and then come back alive ? or does it freeze and die ?

One of the last update from Microsoft did caused some computers to slow down, but not to the point when it actually hang your computer, restart the computer again and once everything is loaded, press CTRL-ALT-DEL to bring up the task manager, under PERFORMANCE, please let us know what percentage its on ?
Also click on PROCESS and then click on CPU to sort the list with the higest value first, and note down the ones that has the highest values.

I suspect you will see a svchost running at very high value.

First of all you may try putting in a New BIOS Battery. Then make sure that you have enough room on your HD top take all the programs you want to put on with room to spare. Make sure if you are using the Internet that you have a firewall and anti-virus installed before you install anything else. DO NOT CONNECT to the Internet with out these two programs or you are asking for problems. I understand that there are some issues with Microsoft's updates and if you do not have a genuine windows OS it can course problems.

as you said ... i think the problem is from offices.
and the Microsoft updater is not so good if your windows is not original..
so i advice you to stop Microsoft update, and this by control panel \ security and fire wall
then turn off the updat.
then click on the left side of the page at the last option(i think it called "change the of notify me the problem" the mark off all the options
