Tweezers, needle nose pliers, or if all else fails - a broken key extractor. The last option usually requires a locksmith.

I've done this quite a few times for customers...the best method I had was to take a large size paper clip and straighten it out, then bent the very tip of it to look like an "L" with about 1/16 of an inch on the end that's bent....then insert it in the lock so it's above the teeth of the key and the idea is to hook the teeth of the key with the little bent end of it and pull out the broken off part of the key.You may need another small paper clip or real small screwdriver to hold open the little trap door that covers the keyhole opening while you're doing this. Another tool to try is get a large fishing hook and bend it straight and try the same procedure and some guys use a sabre saw blade that they break the end off of. Make sure to lube the lock with WD-40 after you get the key out.
Just a few suggestions....Paul

Depending how much of the key is sticking out from the lock, you can try the following:- Long noses pliers, two small jewellers screw drivers top and bottom of the key, Apply super glue to the end of the key and try to stick it to the broken end of the key. After it has stuck pull the key out and replace. Failing this you can either get a lock smith or have the lock replaced with a new one.

The only solution for that is to call a locksmith. He would know how best to remove the key and of course can make you a replacement with the part he gets out of the lock.

I would open the other door, unlock the drivers door,
undo the inner door cover, pop the lock retaining clip,
remove the lock and then tap out the key. of course I know
how to do this, also change mirrors and replace glass.

Easy, snipe nose pliers. Ease the nose in, be careful not to damage the weather cover (the metal plate that slides back whn you insert the key) and just pull it out. Don't force anything, take your time and be gentle, it'll soon come out.

Haha well wasn't your family already torn apart because you were typing with caps lock on? If you're really fat you could lay on top of the sunroof and your car will remain dry.

depends how thick the key is...you could try drilling into the key and extracting with the drill bit.
