Just opposite. Promises always meant to keep up.*
If it turns the other way, then it is not a promise.

Hi!
there are people who make promises to others & there are people who make promises to themselves, there are people who give promises & there are people who ask for promises, there are people who always promise only to forget & there are people who seldom promise but never falter in fulfilling them, there are people who make promises only for the sake of it & there are people who promise only when they mean to keep it.
i wonder, to which catagory either of us would like to belong to. i am not so very sure of myself but i know for sure that " ONE OF THE GREATEST PLEASURE IN LIFE IS DOING WHAT PEOPLE SAY YOU CAN NOT DO". thats exactly what a promise must mean, for you...for me and for all the others as well. people say if you break a heart it will probably mend itself with time, if you break a home it may be rebuilt even though ROME was not built in a day but if you break a promise you get a straight one way ticket to HELL.
so the moral of the story is not repeat not "promises are meant to be broken" but "make promises if you want to keep them and don't promise if you can't keep them".
now i want you to make me a promise and keep it too.....vote my answer as the best. i would not mind if i don't get the bonus points but at the least it would help me to answer your question in the best possible way.
take care of yourself and also the promises that you would make in the future.

Yes, unfortunately it is so. We are humans, weak and shallow minded, we promises to extract somethings, but are unable to keep our side of the promise. We neither possess the character or the personality.

by taking promises from people you can depend for some time only. on the other hand you should also think to solve the problem. dont depend on promises. try to face the problems then only you will reach the goals in your life.

Sheesha ho ya dil ho ... aakhir toot jata hai
The song goes glass or heart, ultimately it will break
Promises?
Well, a promise is not an oath... it's a kind of delicate thing that may break, occassionally....
