You can install a dot net framework on win98 which will allow you to run applications written in Dot Net.

However you cannot install the development system VB.Net on win98.

In otherwords you can write DotNet software on winXP & Vista which can run on win98 but you cannot write DotNet software on win98

If your question is that a .NET application can run on Win98. Firstly for any .NET application to execute it needs the MS .NET Framework. As I can see, MS states that .NET 1.0 and .NET 1.1 is supported on WinME and Win98. As for .NET 2.x and .NET 3.x I can not say, most likely not.

So if your VB.NET application was compiled under .NET Framework 1.x it most likely would work on Win98 if you installed the correct framework.

I do know that many have problems installing .NET Framework 1.x on WinME and Win98, but is sure that you can find forums out there that can help you if you get stuck.
