My idea was to have my gravel sloping down from the back of my tank to the front. I was thinking of having one main feature statue in the centre of the tank and then placing a bubble stone with a light under it behind the statue(producing a stream of coloured bubbles). I would also buy some live plants to cover the back wall of my tank.

Does anybody else have any ideas?

In the tank i have:
One Gourami
Two mollies
& One wee baby mollie

please give me some more ideas!
:)

A great place I've found to look for other ideas is this site: http://www.ratemyfishtank.com/ you can look at other tanks by type - saltwater, reef, planted, freshwater, etc.

Check out this step-by-step planted tank: http://www.wetwebmedia.com/ca/volume_2/cav2i6/planted_aquascaping/planted_aquascaping.htm - this with the lighted statue at the front?

I like planted tanks myself, but you could just use the two-tone substrate to look like a road or stream to the main feature. just a word of warning - the ideas for slopes often fade when you get fish that like to help landscape the tank, or after a few water changes when you have to clean the gravel.

making the tank looks natural by giving plants are wonderful! you can also add bogwoods or rocks to make it even more like in the wild.
if you want to, maybe you'd like to add something else like sunken ship or castles, or whatever, they make great place for hiding spot.
but seriously i like natural style better.

good luck
