Bright comets like McNaught are surprise visitors from the Oort cloud. The known periodic comets are mostly dim objects requiring at least binoculars to see, except for occasional close passes. I don't think any are expected in the next few years. Your best bet is to sign up for email news from a site like http://www.space.com/ or http://www.skytonight.com/ so that you'll see news of new comet discoveries.

There's a complete list of upcoming comets at this website ==>http://www.ast.cam.ac.uk/~jds/upcoming.htm
(NOTE: Comets with a magnitude higher than 6 are extremely difficult for the naked-eye observer)

Right now there aren't any naked-eye comets in the sky.

Bright comets usually aren't discovered until a month or two before they're bright enough to be seen with the naked eye. None are expected at the moment.
