Being a finance officer myself I do believe that the financial adviser is another term for salesman.
They only tell you what they have on offer but never tell you (i.e. advise) which is the best option for your particular circumstances - in case of later litigation.
So they are selling rather than advising. Financial Adviser sounds grand , better than a mere salesman

No! - I was fired as a Financial Adviser. For many years I had excellent turnover. Everything was fine. Last year was difficult and I was fired immediatelly. You see?

As long as you 'produce' well it's ok.

Yeah .. right up to the point when your get sued for miss-selling ... no matter what you didn't (or did) say :-)
