Yes, once one of those crooked brokers with Lehman Bros made a purchase in my account w/o my authorization. I probably should have reported it to the SEC, but what can you do against huge brokerage firms?

Over the years, you learn about these hustlers in these boiler rooms, but back then, I was much younger and did not know.

Just be careful when a broker calls you with a hot tip. Much of the time, it's just the broker trying to place shares in companies that their bigger clients don't want.

Even in mutual funds, you can be taken advantage of. Here's a few articles about it.
