Chances are that I left my sock under the bed, so, I'd keep the clean one until I found the mate. Knowing me, I'd probably forget that I was missing a sock! Hmmm, maybe that is why my sock drawer is so full of unmated socks!

Again putting in the wash to lose it so that at least the machine will have both the socks to use and wear.
If you have had any such encounters, put the sock you have in the machine again and you will see that the washing machine will thank you.!

now this is the deal ,,,,,,im considering starting a nonprofit group for lost sock ppl,, i see it as a considerable neccessity in evey part of the world ,,,there would forums and discussion groups ,,trading individuel socks to make pairs and the likes ,,,,we all could gain a great deal of insight to the ever present danger of faulty brands of washers,, dryers ,,,clothing hampers ,,,furniture manufactures ,, and the like to avoid the future problem of one sock living ,,,,,or just standardize ALL socks so they are all interchangeable and Always paired
