for example, if ur slashin into the lane, and dribblin with ur left hand, do u use ur left hand to do a floater and vice versa?

well you should know, if you wanted to make the basket.

usually coming from the left side dribbling with your left hand then trying to lay it up with the left is hard when youre righthanded. but the proper way to do it is to calculate your step, a floater is like a layup but can be done much farther than the usual layup. when doing it with a left hand..it is proper that your left knee is extended up...after you launch with your right foot.

from this you can even change your shot from left (if the opponent is trying to block it) to right...shift the momentum back to your right hold the ball back from layup position to shooting position with both hands while suspending in the air, then release the ball with your right hand before you land.

i cannot jump high and cannot do mid air tricks, but i was surprised when i did this...just do a lot of practice. if i did it, so can you.
