Down in places like Florida and the Caribbean you have some different opinions from people you ask. During the summer months (June-August) the water is really warm and you can barely tell the difference between the air and the water; the only difference is that the water's wet. Visibility is usually best in the spring (March-May) when the currents aren't whiplashing the coast and not storms are creating any trouble to kick up current and therefore stir up sand on the bottom. The fall (September-November) is usually one of the best times for good travel rates because all of the familes are just getting back to school and no one's really traveling anywhere. And yet again the winter (December-February) is usually the second least crowded season and it also has some good rates, just don't go around the holiday season because rates will skyrocket around the 10th of the month then and also mid-February is also bad because of winter recess (that's the schools' formal term for February break, they call the December break "Holiday break").

Water tends to be clearest in the winter (at least that's the case in the UK), so if one has a drysuit, one can dive all year round. If not, then water temperature will dictate when you can dive (warmest is in summer).

depends where in the world you are... but overall march to may is the best.. thats spring-summer in most places. Visibility is good on those months and currents arent as strong. Fun, fun, fun!
