When Shaquille O’Neal left the Los Angeles Lakers, the team went in shambles. So the simple thing to do would be to bring “The Diesel” back to L.A.

Well LA needs more than just that, if you watch the NBA recently the big man trend is going away. Look at all the teams that rely heavily on their big man in the NBA, see how far they get.
New York Knicks (Eddy Curry): Nowhere
Miami Heat (Shaq) : First Round Blowout
Orlando Magic (Dwight Howard) : First round lost
Houston Rockets (Yao) : Second Round Lost

If Lakers can find players that can run and spread the floor for Kobe on the opposite lane, than Lakers would be true contenders. This would mean an players that can run and finish on opposite ends, reliable spot up 3 pt shooters, and players who can get steals to help with fast breaks.

Even before Shaq left they were in trouble. I am a Laker fan and I do admire Kobe, however he is not "The Man" and as soon as he gets this out of his head there are quite a few Big Guy's out there that would be a plus for the Lakers.

Shaq's too old anyways. Maybe with the help of KG or Ron Artest, the Lakers should be a serious contender next season.

I think KG would be a much better fit then Shaq. Shaq is getting too old and spending half his last 2 seasons on the injury list.

Shaq's not the same he was in 2000. Right now they need Shaq like they need a hole in the head.
