is the mole ration of EDTA:Ca equal to 1:1? i think that all metal ions, irrespective of valence form 1:1 complexes with EDTA, is this right?

the only equation i have to work from is
MgY^2- + Ca^2+ --> Mg ^2+ CaY^2-

not sure.....

Yes, EDTA always forms 1:1 complexes - very stable they are, too.
