I have spent years of logical deduction and introspection trying to find a purpose to life.
I was raised on the prefabricated answer to all my questions, the bible. As I got older, questions led me to the conclusion that had I been born in the image of a divine god, this god would not condemn me for my skepticism of of the bible. I have only the ability to interpret life through the sensations and insights which I encounter during it. At this point, my feeble explanation of purpose is free will gives me the ability to affect positive or negative influence on myself or my surroundings. The more cognizant I am of my ability to affect either positively or negatively in any situation, the more responsibility I have to make each decision that I make reflect the impact I would like to leave as my signature. Each of us seems to me to be their own little social experiment with infinite little variations of circumstance. Almost like evolution of our universe is a sensory organ for another entity incomprehensible to us, and likewise for said entity.
As for whether we matter in the grand scheme of things, the drive that powers the ego of each individual to live is rarely overpowered and the source of which never absolutely defined. We seem to each have the unexplainable desire to Be, and to Be is to decide, and to decide is to affect, and in the ability to affect there lies purpose. That's all I've come up with so far.

A wise man once said that realizing one's own insignificance is a tremendous achievement. It requires great personal insight, and a willingness to see yourself. It is only after you realize your own insignificance that you can truly become great.

True greatness comes from within one's self- it is not measured by what can be seen, but what lies unseen inside the human soul.
