Yes unfortunately he is serious. I like Jason, Anthony, and Logan. The kid will eventually become a teenager and no teenager wants to be called something goofy. However any suggestions you may have for a compromise between outrageously strange and completely old school would help too.

Okay, "Sig" is just weird. Not a name. Tell him he can name the dog Sig. ;)

Horatio is the best friend of the title character, "Hamlet" by Shakespeare. This is thought to be the origin of the name. It doesn't really mean anything. A lot of scholars agree that Shakespeare is implying a homosexual relationship between the two in the only way he could get away with at the time. I'm certainly NOT saying there's anything wrong with that, but I'm thinking it might be easy to talk your boyfriend out of it, since that seems to be the goal.

Sig... that's a nickname for Sigmund or Sigismund. Your BF might be trying to annoy you. Double check by suggesting Sigmund.

Unless his father was Sig and/or Horatio, then I'd wonder what was wrong with him. Otherwise, if he wants to name the baby after his Uncle Sig, then find out what Sig's middle name was (James, hopefully)!

There may be a reason that he is suggesting these names. If you can find the reason, then you may find a good compromise, too.

I agree with you. Both are ridiculous. A name is a serious thing. Your child will have this name for life. Pick a name that has a special meaning for you guys or even consider names of relatives, last names make great first names for little boys. Ex:Carter, Benton, Jackson, etc Congratulaions on your baby and good luck on finding a wonderful name that both of you will appreciate.

It should be a name that means something. Something that is strong and has character to it. Sig,,,reminds of nasty cigarettes. Horatio,,,yeah the tv guy with csi,,,,,,but sounds more like something I would name a german shepherd. Give that baby a good strong name.

Horatio's alright if you're starring in CSI: Miami, or playing in Hamlet. Otherwise...

And Sig, I won't even bother commenting on it.

I say, take a stand, name your child Ziggy Stardust, because we all love David Bowie.

Ethan Andrew Watson is greater useful in spite of the undeniable fact that that is basically a splash greater useful than Skyler. Andrew is incredible too. i might bypass with Ethan Skyler. They sound solid at the same time. besides, i might elect Ethan between that & Skyler.
