You'll need to access streaming content to avoid saving the songs, unless you're playing from a CD, flash drive, external disk, etc.. Most XP computers will offer the option to Play the Music With Media Player when you attach a flash device or insert a CD. Otherwise - the Now Playing drop-down menu will suffice.

Streaming audio still uses disk space, but this is normal and is marked as temporary, so it'll get cleaned out eventually.

In Media Player, click the Radio button, and make a selection.

Seperately, there are literally hundreds of outlets for free high quality streaming audio. Below is a current favorite of mine.

If u want u can put them on a shared network drive or play them through cd\dvd by creating a shortcut(remember to convert or play the files by media player first.U can also hear songs through radio by windows media player
