It’s about a ninja who is hired to assassinate someone in the U.S. Unfortunately the police gun him down before he can finish his task. In order to complete the mission the ninjas spirit returns and possesses one of the officers that shot him. I can remember one scene where the officer, while possessed, grabs a billiard ball and crushes it into dust with his bare hands.

That’s all I can remember, thanks in advance.

Dang!!! This is the second Cannon Films "Ninja" movie question, which I've encountered in the past 24 hours!!!

...unmistakeably, this is the 1984 production of "Ninja III: The Domination", one of the handful of 'mystical' ninja films put out in the '80's by Cannon Films ("Enter the Ninja", "Revenge of the Ninja", "American Ninja", etc.).

As with "Enter..." and "Revenge...", this one featured martial arts ninja master & actor Sho Kosugi, who soon after this film, starred in the short lived ABC series, with Lee Van Cleef, and called "The Master".

In "Ninja III...", it was Lucinda Dickey's character, a telephone line repair person, and aerobics instructor, who was the one possessed by the evil ninja...not a police officer (though she DID fall in love with one, who turned out to be the last police officer, who the evil ninja wanted to enact his revenge on).

A very fun...very campy film, and an interesting mish-mash of a ninja film, "The Exorcist", "Poltergiest", and "Flashdance"!!!

OMG!

I totally forgot all about Lucinda Dickey. Her career pretty much faded away after all those break dancing movies.
