I am getting a new computer with a EAX1950pro 256MB video card. My current PC has a Geforce 7300GS. I am wondering if I will notice a difference in gaming.

Also for my second question how does the
EAX1950pro256MB stand up to the geforce products what geforce cards are equal or similarly equal to the EAX1950pro 256MB.

I know this video card is not the best I could of gotten but I am a stability freak. I love lower temperature readings. And I heard this card is very stable. I got an awesome gaming case URL below

So I know temps will hold out fine. I am going to upgrade my video card in 6 month to a year or so when the second generation DX10 cards are out. I am not a Super heavy gamer even the 7300GS does me fairly well.

If it matters I use 2GB 800mhz ram. 4800+ AMD dual core CPU and am going to be running Windows XP pro until I upgrade to vista in 1-2 years.

PSU ThermalTake 700W Toughpower

From what I know this PSU is Super Overkill but I am going to be getting a more powerful card in the future plus my case has about 10-11 fans total but that includes everything.

Either you looked at the benchmarks wrong or something but sadly. The 8800GTS would umm take every molecule in my body spin it 77 ways from Sunday and nuke me and my EAX1950Pro but its very unstable from what I hear.

This is referring to my last comment. Lots of the stats do seem the same but... Pixel-Pipelines is one of the things that is a lot different. I am stuck with 12 with my EAX1950pro when the 8800GTS has 90 something stream processors not to mention it has a 320Bit. But I see what you mean.

Think of it from going from a bicycle to a porche. Pretty big difference between the two. Here are the benchmarks to show it.

BIG performance difference compared to your 7300GS. The x1950 Pro is comparable to Nvidia's 7900GS. Just make sure your power supply could cope up w/ the x1950 Pro's requirement. The x1950 Pro draws 66watts (mostly from the +12V rail). Your old 7300GS draws only about 16watts.

A good power supply NOW means hefty +12V rail (preferably dual rail). Do not rely on minimum power supply requirement. You will just severely stress it by running it HOT at full load, especially the +12V rail. Power supplies run cooler and last longer if load is 80% or less.

Oh, I see that this is an ASUS video card... they are noted for grear performance. It looks like you put together a nice system. It looks like it may equate to the GeForce 8800 GTS ..... hard to equate because the page is written in German.
