First I would get a second opinion.
This happened to a guy recently.
He spent all his money, thinking he had a year to live,
Then found out the Doctor was wrong, But now he is Broke.
He is now suing the Doctor.
But I wouldn't blow my money. If I knew for sure I was going to die, I would just spend time with my family.

I was diagnosed with a terminal illness so I guess I am LIVING that question---and my answer is--I spend and spend and spend---I take trips, I buy things I want and never would buy before because there was always a bill---I have less bills now (paid them off) there is so much I want to SEE before--I am taking a road trip across country (USA) this summer and fly fishing in Florida in September and Europe in October...I'm not sure exactly how long I have but as Tim McGraw says Live Like You Were Dying----I'm enjoying EVERY single day that I am still alive...Appreciating everything SO much more and wishing I could have enough money to live another 25 years....

im gonna make sure that i did all that 3 mentioned above together.. since you were given a year to live you must live the most out of it.. spend more time with your family or love ones then treat and pamper yourself as possible and some of the money left once you are finally gone in this world thats when you give it to the charities. its pretty hard to choose one so, better do together at all time.

If I had one year to live, I'd give some of the money to charity and spaz out with the rest of the money.

No change in terms of family, but I will probably spend some time traveling and visit some friends and relatives around the world - so that might require some more spending than usual.

Ive been around the world and back several times and done just about everything I have ever wanted so I would put in trust with the beneficiaries as my family to avoid inheritance tax

Well I hate to say it, but I wouldn't be able to spend all of what we have in the bank, savings, retirement and mutual funds, so I would set up trust funds for the kids, and give it to my family. I would have about 2M buried with me, just for the hell of it.
