none more then the average person- the twin genetics are carried through the female genetics so you would need to get it from your mom

The fact of the matter is yes you can have twins..but its highly unlikely. Some people in here have their facts wrong. Twins is on the maternal side..so no you couldnt get the genetics from YOUR dad.
You have a chance though..Identical twins is random ..can happen to totally anyone but its pretty rare.

Fraternal run in families (again on the mothers side) it is a gene for hyperovulation (you let more than one egg out at a time)
Things that increase your chance of Fraternal twins Age--the older you are the more chance you have of having twins, number of pregnancies you have had, if you are overweight, if you have already had a multiple pregnancy, if you are on fertility drugs, if you get pregnant while breastfeeding, or while on the birth control pill...oh and eat more dairy.
Hehe..just thought you might want to know

I think it's every other generation myself, the reason I say this is because, my fiance's grandmother had twins but lost them at childbirth, she had 6 kids all together. She had about 40 granchildren from them 6 kids, but no twins were born from them 40 grandchildren. But their great granchildren had twins, same with my family so I'd say it's every other generation. I'm supposed to be next I hope because I would love twins. But believe what you want because I may be wrong but that's my opinion. Sorry if it doesn't make sense I tried to explain it as best I can.
Good luck anyway and all the for your future
best wishes Karah x

I've read that twins usually skip a generation. So you may have twin grandchildren some day. But twins and triplets can happen to anyone, honestly. But from the articles I've read the genetics to twins is every other generation. Plus it's inherited from the female's side. If your mom or grandmother was a twin, you have a chance of having twins.

Twins are hereditary on the mother's side. Your chances of having twins would be much greater if your mom was a twin.
Your father being a twin will probably not increase your chances.

you will on no account understand till they inform you yet i will say 2 issues. a million. whilst my mom became into pregnant with me (i'm a twin) lots of persons theory she became into having twins and my total kin became into praying for twins and so on. and we haven't any twins in our kin so it became into thoroughly random. So perhaps you have some wish with that. 2. i do no longer think of having various twins has that popular of an result on whether or no longer you have ones. it easily relies upon on if different twins on your loved ones are fraternal or no longer. reason being is using the fact comparable is punctiliously random yet fraternal would have an result on it. because of the fact there's a gene for some thing observed as hyper-ovulation which makes a woman positioned out lots extra eggs extra usually and on occasion a number of at a time. hence making your probabilities of having a fraternal twins larger nicely sturdy success with the twins!

Your chances depend on several factors.
Such as, Is he an identical twin? Are there any more twins in the family? Are you on any fertility drugs?
If he is an identical twin, your chances of you having twins does not increase.
If there are many twins on his side of the family there may be an increased chance of twins.
If you are on fertility drugs, your chances of multiples, twins or even more, are greatly increased.

I don't know the exact percentage but there is a great chance of u having twins especially since it is ur dad that is the twin. It is more likely for an offspring 2 have twin if the father is a twin

Actually most family's have twins running in the family, even if you are not aware of it, and they can skip more than 1 generation so your chances are not really any higher than the next person.

Depends on what kind of a twin your father was. The potential for having identical twins is passed through the father, so it would be higher if your husband's family has identical twins running in it. The potential for having fraternal twins is passed through the mother, so if your father is a fraternal twin then your chances might be higher. There's no way to predict the odds, though.
