If you search online, Denise Austin has a pregnancy workout video that combines light aerobics and yoga. It has thirty minute videos broken down in to a video for the first, second, third trimester and postpartum. It has appropriate exercises for each trimester. But as with everything, ask your doc before you do it. Swimming is great, walking is good, but can bring on labor later on. Prenatal yoga is also good, just search prenatal yoga and you will find videos.

There are quite a few things you can do during pregnancy. Walking, swimming, aerobics designed for pregnancy, pilates designed for pregnancy, stationary bicycling, kegels are important, try belly dancing it is physical but pretty low impact. The main thing is that it isn't dangerous like roller blading, horseback riding and gymnastics, and it is comfortable for you to do. Your best bet before starting an exercize program is to talk to you doctor who can give you advice that will work best with you based on your medical history, weight, activity level and how you feel about exercising. In pregnancy you don't have to exercise, but it will help you to have more endurance and be able to handle the exerction of labor better. But without it you will still be okay. Exercise during pregnancy is a very personal thing.

In the book I have it says that walking everyday for about 20 to 30 minutes is a great way to get your exercise while pregnant. It says exercising is ok as long as you don't get winded. So just don't push yourself too much.

I am 8 months pregnant and have done pilates 3 times a week the entire pregnancy. It is expensive, but if you can find a studio near you and just do at least one class a week, you'll feel great. I only gained 18 pounds this entire time - and I am so toned. I also walk.
This is my second pregnancy and I am in better shape now than I was with the first.

Light exercise is good for a pregnant woman because it helps to relax her body and keeps the blood stream in her vains flowing smoothly. It will be difficult for me to recommend a suitable excercise program to a woman that is pregnant. However, you may consult one of the experts at the Gym for suitable exercise programs for women that are pregnant.

There are special aerobic classes for pregnant women that I understand are very good. If you belong to one, check with your health club.

I agree with your first answer walking, there are also other types of aerobics you can take at health club or YMCA such as swimming.
