it's amazing how a simple question like this can just start a ball of stupidity rolling. It was so incredibly straight forward yet I still get dumbass responses like "the Superbowl is only in USA". How ignorant is that? It is shown all over the world. Oh and who gives a flying **** EXACTLY how many countries there are on the earth? I did not ask any questions about which sport is better than another, I really do not care what you think about America or our sports or if yours is greater. I am talking simple numbers here, people. Someone show me some real statistics with hopefully a LINK to go with it. Honestly, I'm positive that the World Cup gets higher ratings than the Superbowl. I just wanted to see a comparison. I really don't care how much you better you think your sissy foot sport is better than American Football. It isn't. watch, sooner or later this will turn into a RACIAL debate. It ALWAYS does. People are morons.

World Cup Football claims an audience of 2 Billion.
American sport is mostly watched by Americans and world sports attract higher audiences.
Rugby Union and Soccer football would both rate very highly.
In the olympics, certain races or matches attract vast audiences.

I am almost 99% sure that it is the World Cup or something soccer, because America is the only country on Earth that soccer is not the most popular sport. People don't come here to play soccer they come for Football or Basketball and sometimes Baseball. Did you know that Ronoldino is like 100 times more popular, or well known, than Peyton Manning.

FIFA World Cup. I once heard that more people watch the World Cup Final than every other major sporting event combined. I don't know exactly how true it is, but a commentator on TV once said it. It doesn't sound unreasonable though.

The world cup is viewed by more people on Earth than any other sporting event.
Based on global popularity, then it'd be the World Cup.

In the world it is the World Cup.
In the US, the Super Bowl is by far and away the most watched sporting event every year.

easily i think of the Olympics would be extra usual this summer season than the All-celebrity game. only because of the fact the Olympics happen each 4 years while the All-celebrity game is each year. yet I do think of that is going to be extra usual this 365 days than previous years because of the fact of yank Stadium and all.

Before you start making up statistics, please note that there are only 194 recognized independent countries in the world.
