The Great Depression began during the presidency of Herbert Hoover and ended during the presidency of Franklin Roosevelt.

Herbert Hoover was the president at the start of the Great Depression. And thn Franklin Delanor Roosevelt was the presidnet through the reminder of the Great Depression.

Herbert Hoover gets the nod on this one. Then they promised a "Chicken in every pot" but couldn't pull off the election against Roosevelt.
