My husband and I are pretty good about having protected sex, we have only been married 2 years and aren't ready to have kids yet. Around two weeks ago we had unprotected sex, we really didn't think anything of it he didn't ejaculate in me but hey anything can happen. Basically I am a huge worrier and went to get a pregnancy test just to make sure. Both turned out negative, however I still have not gotten my period yet. I'm not one to keep track of it simply because I'm still young and it tends to be irregular. My question is would those tests be reliable since I took them two weeks after the unprotected sex. Any answers would be of great help thanks!

I got a positive 10 days after conception. This is rare though, most women won't be able to get a positive until their period is due.

The average for a positive HPT is 10 days past ovulation....so unless you know when you ovulated we have to play a guessing game sort of and say sperm can live in fertile fluids inside a woman's body for up to 5-6 days so take that then add 10 days and that would give you 16 days to wait to get a faint positive IF you are pregnant, but the odds are you aren't. You are just really stressed about this.

I'm a week and a couple of days late.. I took three different tests and they all came out positive. If your body is producing that hormone that the tests look for, the tests will pick it up... All my tests came out light, but it found the hormone, that's why they're positive. If yours a negative, maybe you're not....
Wait another week and get a test w/ your doctor... If you're in a rush, I think they can do it at planned parenthood for like $40 same day.

you might want to test again after 3 weeks. Some pregnany tests (depending on the quality) will show results as soon as 4 days after conception. Some do not show low levels of HCG though so try again. It wouldn't hurt to do one once a week until you get your period (if youre that worried about it!)

I got a positive result 6 days after ovulation, which was 8 days before my period was due. I bought these very early tests that I bought on-line. The positive line was so faint you could barely see it.

14 days after having intercourse, if you were going to be pregnant, it would likely show up. Not always, but usually. If it has been longer then 14 days and you are still getting negatives, RELAX! You are probably fine!
