Just had it done, I called the utility board, they gave me all the info needed from their side, they would have charged 1000.00 to set up their end of it but as we had been paying for city sewer for so many years anyway they waived the fee. We live in the city and since we "could" have had it when they first came through with it we get charged the monthly fee even though we didn't hook up to it till now. But the cost for us came in when we had to get a licensed contractor to dig the ditch and lay the pipe and hook it up, they charged us 1500.00, I think we could have done better if we had shopped around, and gotten more estimates.

In most cities and counties..You have to be aLienced Plumber to touch the sewer lines....or they do the tie in ( for a price ) you have to bring the line up to a certain point but all this can be answered for a fact in the area you live if yo go to the building department and ask the question...You wil get one of 2 things...1...They may say you have to ask an inspector and of course he is gone for the day...Or 2..They will point you to a wall of a thousand papers and tell you the rules are on one of them....
Good Luck

Check with the city sewer department. you may need to be licenced to do the tie in to the city line. If not, they can tell you what you need to do.
