complete predicate: put the new plants on the ground
simple predicate: put

complete subject: a wooden feeder for the birds
simple subject: feeder

for the simple, just make it into a simpler sentence:
father put
feeder hangs
(simple subject) (simple predicate)

then just add everything else around those to get the complete subject and predicate.

1.)Complete Predicate: put the new plants on the ground
Simple Predicate: put

2.) Complete subject: Wooden feeder for the birds
Simple subject: feeder

Complete predicates contain the verb in the sentence plus all modifiers.
Simple predicates are JUST the verb

The same is true for Complete and Simple subjects:
Complete: NOUN that acts or is acted on plus all modifiers (like adjectives)
Simple: JUST the noun that acts or is acted on.

Hope that helps :)
