We are pregnant and NOT finding out the gender..bet we are trouble finding names that are not common, but easy for a child to spell and pronounce as this is our second. I went old fashion with a twist for our first (alyce---pronounce like alice..not A-lyce as we are having a problem with now). Any one got any good suggestions...also it has to have more then one sylible as we have a one sylible last name.

Please when answering this we need a name a 4 yr old can pronounce and family and friends can spell. PLEASE NO baby name sites...I have looked they are a joke....We live in a rural area and do not want anything way out there out that teachers will have trouble spelling or pronouncing.

For a boy, I like Brecken. It is simple and easy to sound out and spell. For a girl, Piper. Again, simple and easy.

You can always go to babyname.com

You can check anything acorrding to gender, and culture.

I find a lot of old Irish or Celtic names really unigue, and very beautiful.

Try Pleasantine for a girl (plesant teen)
Very oldfashioned though

Well for a girl you could use Alissa, Saraii (sah-rye-ee)Arianna, or Aleka (Ah-Lay-ka). For a boy you could use Tristyn, Brendon, or Jasper.

There is also a site that has names and meanings:
http://www.babynamesworld.com/

congratulations to the both of you and goodluck!
