The movie left it to your imagination Forrest narrated jenny had a problem with her immune system. Letting us to insinuate aids. she should of coupled up with Forrest one day one but instead sluted around till she had nobody else. mild mannered Forrest takes her in. She dies;

They never say, presumably AIDS or Hep C since she says it is a virus and given the time frame. But afterwards she marries Forrest so I don't know......

AIDS is implied (her promiscuity & drug use during the 60s & 70s), but not stated as such other than a "virus." Does that answer your question?

She died from contracting HIV which then turned into AIDS. You aren't told this in the movie but are lead to assume it due to the time period (late 70s, early 80s)...

It was AIDS, but at the time (the time period in the movie) they didn't know what it was. She doesn't actually say she has it, but she says she has a new virus or something like that.
