I group concerts into three:
Those bands that hold a crowd with their music alone.
Those bands that hold a crowd with their stage show.
Those bands that can do neither.
Depending on what you like, the show or the music, then you can figure out what the best concert is. I've enjoyed DMB, U2, and Neil Diamond for music.....AC/DC and Janet Jackson for show......and too many who fall into the third category.

Good question, except it all depends on what genre of music you like. i've been to many, many shows and i will make a short list of bands i think have the best show:
Rob Zombie
Marilyn Manson
Iron Maiden
Sworn Enemy
Foo Fighters
The Casualties
Lower Class Brats
Ozzy/Black Sabbath
Depeche Mode
The Prodigy (best band ever!!!)
Daft Punk
Wolfmother
Common
Damian Marley
Metallica
Circle Jerks
so many more i can't remember them all

DMB live is good. If you like them check out Umphrey's McGee, probably the most talented live performing band out there right now. Seriously, these guys may soon rival Phish or the Dead in talent.

My Chemical Romance! They are amazing live! At the last one I went to for Black Parade, there was fire and confetti and blimps and explosions! And they play like cd quality, the only differences is you cant always here the guitar solos. AWESOME!!!
