I don't care about the expiration date on eggs cuz they are good for like 3 months in the fridge, Milk is another story, If it smells funny then I won't drink it. Overall I'm not really picky. I would eat it if it looked and smelled ok.

Told ya I would answer it today. :)

I'm always checking the expiration dates in the store before I purchase something...if it's expired or close to the date, I will try to find one that is not and get that one. And each time I take something from the fridge at home...if it's past the expiration date, I'll throw it away and not eat it.

I'm extremely picky when it comes to food in general. I feel like they took the time to put those dates on stuff for a reason. Some stuff like dry cake mix or frozen food I will eat if it is only a month or so past the date, but for the most part I just throw stuff out!

No. Once its a day past the expiration date I throw it away. Even if it smells alright. I'm very picky with that kinda stuff. My parents get really mad at me cuz they would have still drinken/eaten it. Just yesterday morning I threw away the cream and my dad yelled at me.

We buy from the day old store. The rule of thumb on milk is it is still good 3 days past the date if it is kept cold and on the bottom shelf of the fridge. I DO inspect things though before we eat/drink them.

with meat I'm very picky, if it doesn't look right or smell right even if it's the day I bought it at the store, I throw it right out or take it back to get my $$. dairy I'm more lenient on, since they put that good BGH in the milk I think it'll keep for a while.

*** i won't buy it unless it's got an expiry date that's a good while away, but if it's in the fridge i'm an inspector. if it looks and smells ok i think it's probably ok.
