Gods lived on Olympus. Were really like Humans with special powers - same emotions -Anger, Lust,(Zeus) Love, Jealousy etc. Each God had responsibility for a certain area of life eg Apollo - music. Artemis - hunting. Haphaestus -Blacksmith. Posidon -sea .Hades-underworld. Many more ,but no space. Gods could be placated by sacrifice. Gods would walk the earth to punish evildoers or reward the good. Hope this helps.
