I tend not to have any trouble falling asleep but after a while I awake often and my girlfriend tells me that my restlessness makes it difficult for her to sleep with me. What are some possible solutions?

Avoid alcohol and caffeine. Alcohol has a lot of sugar in it and while you may drowse off because of it, as you body processes the liquid it the sugar hits your system and up you are! Caffeine is a stimulant.
Try a routine of going to bed and getting up at the same time every day. Even when you are not working. Allow 8 hours for sleep!
If trying the methods you get in Answers does not work, than consult your physician. Chemical imbalance, hormone imbalance, diet and nutrition all play a part in how our bodies work. And you may need professional advice on how to get the rest you need. Good luck and sweet dreams!

Try turning off your body and mind well before bed.
Turn off the TV, laptop, stereo, phone, cell phone etc...
Go outside and sit for a while.
Talk to your girlfriend.
Give each other a massage with some lavendar oil mixed with grapeseed or almond oil.
Put a few drops of lavendar oil on your pillow case.
Take a bath with some lavendar oil.

You can go herbal/suppplemental:

Valerian Root

Suntheanine (L-Theanine)

Melatonin

Passion flower

Hops flower

Chamomile flower

There are several formulas on the market that contain several of these items. Just make sure to go to a reputable company that does quality checks and has educated staff.

Just remember that what works for one person doesn't always work for another.

Also if you are taking medications do a drug interaction check first.
